This year, the EDC Japan festival was expected to be even bigger and more diverse in its musical offerings, with hip-hop, trap, techno and house music—complemented by talent from Japan’s local music scene. HARD and Factory 93, two of Insomniac’s most distinctive brands, will be hosting stages at EDC Japan for the first time.
HARD is best known its widely popular HARD Summer Music Festival in Southern California. In 2018 alone, the premiere electronic and hip-hop festival hosted Travis Scott, Marshmello, Zeds Dead, and Dillon Francis, along with over 100 other performers. Hosting its first multi-day festival in Downtown Los Angeles, Secret Project, Factory 93 is a fast-growing underground music brand that specializes in immersive live art and the interplay between technology and house and techno music. Secret Project received the 2018 FestX Award for Best New Festival.
Kicking things off on Saturday, May 11th, featuring Skrillex, Future, Armin Van Buuren and Marcel Dettmann, he is active in the club scene in Japan and has a mysterious world view and deep singing voice, DARUMA & JOMMY representing street culture Okinawa’s hip-hop queen Awich and the youngest rapper belonging to the up-and-coming artist group YENTOWN On the stage of kZm, family members and that ultra-popular rapper will appear as secret guests.
